PHARMACY MEDICINES AND POISONS BOARD (PMPB)

JOB TITLE: DRUG INSPECTORS (2)
GRADE: 5

REPORTING TO: CHIEF DRUG INSPECTOR

MAIN DUTIES

  1. Planning and implementing cost-effective inspections for the local pharmaceutical establishments to ensure compliance with the provisions of the PMPB Act
  2. In liaison with the law enforcement agencies such as the Police, lead a team of inspectors to deal with the illegal drug policing.
  3. Planning and participating in inspections of health institutions with the view of improving the quality and standard of practice
  4. Preparing annual budgets for all inspection activities with suitable work plans and expected outcomes to fit with the expected cash flow
  5. Developing and/ or updating inspection tools based on current law and formulating new regulations in view of the changing times
  6. Planning and inspecting pharmaceutical consignments at the port of entry (POE)
  7. Impounding any unregistered, substandard or counterfeit medicines entering the country illegally
  8. Compiling and submitting quarterly and annual reports of all activities implemented to the Head of Department
  9. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution, registered with PMPB and at least two (3) years work experience Those with computer skills will have an added advantage
